I firmly believe that an attorney's caliber is reflected both in their work and their approach to clients and cases. My previous roles as a researcher, writer, and later as an associate trial attorney alongside some of North Carolina's finest legal minds have endowed me with the depth of experience crucial for effective representation. Furthermore, the legal landscape is in constant flux; laws evolve, and each case introduces unique nuances, fostering opportunities for growth and learning among adept attorneys. This essence of "quality experience" lies in the continuous acquisition of insights from every client and case encountered.
I also recognize a paradigm shift in the legal profession, particularly at the grassroots level. The era of cutthroat competition yielding to individual profit margins is waning. Collaboration emerges as the cornerstone for pursuing and securing justice in this new age. Hence, I actively leverage my network, engaging in frequent discussions and consultations with fellow licensed attorneys. This proactive approach ensures no avenue remains unexplored and every conceivable legal facet pertinent to my clients' cases is meticulously addressed. Here, an attorney's demeanor and interpersonal skills assume paramount importance. While readiness to assertively advocate is essential, cultivating and nurturing positive relationships within the legal community unlocks a wealth of resources to navigate novel or unconventional circumstances.
Above all, I am deeply committed to affording my clients not only zealous representation but also compassion and personalized care. Each individual I encounter leaves an indelible imprint on my professional journey, just as I leave a part of myself with them. Consequently, I prioritize building genuine connections with my clients, striving to understand their circumstances on a personal level. While maintaining the requisite professional boundaries, I reject the notion of erecting a figurative barrier between attorney and client. True advocacy entails delving into the intricacies of each client's circumstances, equipping me to champion their cause effectively and secure the most favorable outcome for their distinct legal needs.
Outside of practicing law, I find solace and rejuvenation in outdoor gardening, "aquascaping" aquariums, playing guitar, and in moments of quiet reflection.
It is both a privilege and a pleasure to practice law in Sanford, the community where I grew up. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to speak with you!

I was born and raised in India and moved to the United States when I was 13. I take pride in being an immigrant and an attorney; Especially being a criminal defense attorney! Having taken the citizenship exam in the United States to become a naturalized citizen, I got to study the constitution. Our founding fathers set up the country to avoid tyranny by putting into place the concept of “Checks and Balances”. Each governmental branch is checked and balanced by another. Criminal Defense attorneys play a critical role in this “checks and balances”.
How may you wonder? Well without us, the government could throw anyone into jail. That’s why “right to an attorney” is a critical part of our constitution. It is a part of the bill of rights. You have rights to your Life, Liberty and Property. The government cannot take those without following due process of the law.
Having said that, it is my job to make the State work hard to prove their case. They have to be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt whether my client did something against the law. You better believe I work hard to cast every doubt I can on the State’s case so they cannot meet the “beyond a reasonable doubt” standard. However, each case is different and that’s why I like to get to know my clients so we can take a holistic approach to the issue. Of course, there are cases where I think a plea may be better than a trial and we discuss that together and decide what is the best course of action for you.
I hope by now you are able to see that I am passionate about why I practice law. This passion makes me a zealous advocate for you! I have also practiced in several jurisdictions and served many indigent clients as a court appointed attorney.
When I am not working you can find me spending time with my husband, our families, our dog Arya, hosting friends, going on hikes, playing board games, and exploring. I am an amateur cook, gardener, yogi, and embroider.

My name is Moon. I was rescued by C.A.R.A. of Sanford and adopted by Attorney Stone in March of 2023. When you meet me I might be shy at first, so please don't take it personal if I don't speak to you right away.
Sometimes I am busy sniffing out the fine details of your case, but other times I'm just daydreaming about taking a walk, chasing squirrels, or chewing on a bone.
When I'm not working I enjoy digging up Attorney Stone's garden, barking at the neighbors, and generally doing ordinary dog things.
